Enhancing Access Control at PPG
Manufacturing Site
We recently completed a major security and access control project for PPG, a leading manufacturer committed to safety, efficiency, and innovation. The project’s goal was to provide secure, seamless, and fully managed entry points for staff, visitors, and contractors accessing the site.
Controlled Access Points
To ensure a safe and efficient flow of people and vehicles, we designed and installed a combination of barriers, turnstiles, and a DDA (Disability Discrimination Act compliant) access gate. This setup ensures that all site users can enter safely while maintaining the highest levels of access control and compliance.

Advanced Access Control Technology
The system is powered by SiPass access control, integrated with HID readers to provide a secure and reliable method of authentication. To further enhance convenience, we also installed long-range readers at the vehicle barriers. These enable hands-free card reading technology, allowing authorised staff to enter without needing to present a card directly to the reader — improving flow and reducing delays during peak times.
This combination of short-range and long-range access solutions gives PPG a flexible, future-proof system that balances security with user convenience.
Seamless Integration for a Secure Site
By bringing together robust physical security measures with intelligent access control technology, PPG now has a site that is:
More secure — every entry point is managed and monitored.
More accessible — with DDA compliance and multiple entry options.
More efficient — thanks to hands-free entry and integrated control systems.
This project highlights how security doesn’t have to come at the cost of convenience. By combining the right hardware and software, PPG benefits from a solution that strengthens site protection while supporting the day-to-day operations of their busy manufacturing facility.
